Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I use StreamBeats on Twitch?
Short Answer: Yes
Long Answer: You will never get a copyright strike/DMCA take down on Twitch. As for VOD/clip muting, Twitch uses an automated system called Audible Magic. It’s not perfect and sometimes mistakes StreamBeats songs for other songs and you’ll occasionally get a mute. This isn’t the same as a strike, no need to worry about it. We are working on it, though they make it very hard to fix this. We’ll keep you updated.

Can I use StreamBeats on YouTube?
Short Answer: Yes
Long Answer: We have submitted and verified every single song with YouTube individually that they are safe and able to monetize with. False claims still happen, whether it’s ContentID confusing it with another song, or a greedy person falsely claiming they own the track. If that happens, please submit the information in #┃copyright-claims . If you appeal the claim, it is entirely up to the person who sent the claim to decide whether or not they want to release it (not a good system) and they even have the option to strike your channel. Do so at your own risk. Keep in mind, these claims are extremely rare

Can I play StreamBeats on Facebook Gaming?
Short Answer: Kind of
Long Answer: Lots of streamers have done this with no problems, but Facebook has given us the most trouble out of any of the platforms. They also use Audible Magic for music recognition but use it much more aggressively. There is nearly zero safe music for Facebook streamers unless you are a partnered streamer with them. Again, we are working on this, we will update you when we finally get this fixed.

What CAN’T I use StreamBeats for?
Short Answer: Commercial use
Long Answer: You may not reupload StreamBeats to Spotify or other platforms.
You can’t turn your Twitch channel (or any other streaming channel) into a music radio station and just play it. There is no reason for you to do this, it’s already free on multiple platforms.

Is a MUTE the same thing as a DMCA?
Short Answer: No
Long Answer: Mutes are done by automated (and often very flawed) software and they are done to PREVENT DMCA strikes from happening. Most platforms have no permanent punishment for getting muted. Sometimes StreamBeats gets muted because the platforms automated service confuses the song with a different one. We're trying hard to fix it but they give us very few options. If we ever manage to actually solve this problem, we will let you know. In the mean time.. it's just a part of the live streaming landscape right now.
